Mido fair 2008- Higher profile for YOU’S and introduction of Youpi! for Youngsters
At the Mido fair in Milan we launched a new campaign to raise the profile of the You'S brand. We are hoping to increase brand recognition with a strategy that emphasizes the appeal of Dutch Design, and which highlights the growing importance of eyewear as a means of self-expression.

In the new campaign, the “Dutch Design” values will be underlined by adding the words “Dutch Design” to the already existing “tulip logo” in all YOU’S communications. You surely must also have noticed the beautiful fresh Dutch tulips in our booth!

The new campaign further highlights the possibilities for self-expression in the collection with a new tag-line: Eyedentify yourself. At Mido, we also introduced a new line of children’s frames under the name Youpi! The Youpi! line features playful and colourful frames, with the same high design and quality standards as You’S, and outstanding value. We will be marketing the new line with the theme Life = Youpi!

Fairhopping in 2008...
We had a busy start of the year; sales are truely booming! Our first fair started on January 18 in Istanbul where our new agent in Turkey, Opal Optik, had a very successful first show with the You'S collection.

4 Weeks later we travelled to Dubai to participate in the Vision X show together with our Middle East distributor Ali Ajouz. Again we had the pleasure of getting many positive reactions on the collection.

Very shortly after, on February 22 we travelled to Brno in the Czech Republic to visit our agent Jiri Chyba who had a booth at the Opta fair.


At the same time, our distributor in China, Grand Dynasty , had a very successful show in Shanghai where they represented You'S for the very first time.

At the beginning of March our agent Opti Well in Spain and Brock & Mickelsen in Denmark also participated in local fairs in Madrid and Copenhagen. Orders have already started coming in...
This was followed by a fair in Tunesia on March 21 where our local agent Olfa had a booth at the show in Hammamet.

On March 30 and 31 our distributor Optique Instinct participated in the Marseille fair in France, where this new fair took place for the very first time. During the same weekend our agent in Hungary, JR Optika, took part in the optical show in Budapest.


We ended the pre-Mido season with a visit to New York where we accompanied our distributor Accessureyez at the Vision Expo East show. Yet again great reactions on the collection.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the above distributors for a very warm welcome in their countries and for their hard work in making the You'S collection such a great success!
PARIS FORMIDABLE !
WAUW !! Never before did we get so many compliments ! Not only for the new collection, but also for the new stand layout and branding concept.


Everyone loved the 28 new models in our You’S collection ; especially the grylamid section received much attention (not only from clients but also from competitors) ! It was great to see our distributors in Paris and to get their positive response. Thank you all very much. We also established many new contacts in areas where You’S is currently not represented. We hope to be able to welcome these distributors as new friends in the next few weeks.

And surely you noticed the big You’S poster at the entrance of the Silmo fair (see photo below). One of the reasons why we were busy throughout the fair ! A big thank you for this to our French distributor optique instinct who served all the French opticians visiting our stand.

Yes, You’S Eyeworks certainly got noticed in Paris ; all in all : SILMO 2007 was a great hit !!!
Le Groupe Optique Clip on Plus in Montreal show
In the weekend of October 6 our Canadian distributor, Le Groupe Optique Clip on Plus, had a very succesful show in Montreal. The show turned out very well, with excellent sales, a beautiful booth and colourful frames. Clients were extremely enthousiastic as they were given a sneak preview of the Silmo 2007 collection.
